Coaching Accreditation

Netball Australia has developed a 6 step coaching accreditation scheme, making it easier for coaches to work through the various coaching levels. The Netball Australia website provides a full explanation of the coach education scheme. A copy of the Accreditation Framework document can be downloaded here.

The Foundation and Development courses are designed for beginner and club coaches.

Foundation Accreditation

The first level of the coaching accreditation scheme is the Foundation level. This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches who are coaching at Club level. The online Foundation Coach Accreditation Course is targeted primarily at beginner coaches, teachers, parents and NetSetGO coaches and outlines introductory coaching information and basic netball techniques.

The Foundation Coaching Course is available on-line. The course contains the following four modules:

  1. The role of the coach
  2. Planning
  3. Teaching netball skills
  4. The coach in action

Enquiries should be directed to Anne Stewart on 0414 564 692.

Development Accreditation

The next level is Development. This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches who are coaching at Club, Association and Regional level. The prerequisites for this course include:

  • holding a Foundation accreditation for 12 months
  • being at least 15 years of age
  • having a current umpires theory pass (see Umpires section) - this is completed online.

The Development Course is now provided as a blended (on-line and face-to-face). The on-line component may be accessed through the E-Learning section of your MyNetball account.

The CDNA will arrange a face-to face component from time to time.

Enquiries should be directed to Anne Stewart on 0414 564 692.
